Here's a trip down memory lane...it was 1985 and my neighbor and I spent hours with our "My Little Ponies"...combing the mane and tail, braiding the mane and tail, making them go swimming in our hot tub...for hours.
So, you can imagine my excitement when Hasbro brings 'em back...for my daughters to enjoy! Man, those toy companies are smart. Of course we'll buy stuff for our kids that we played with when we were kids. But why make them have the big googly eyes?
Anywho, this is pretty cool. For the 25th Anniversary of My Little Pony, they decided to invite 25 designers, celebrities, and artists to design and one-of-a-kind pony, all blinged out. They will be auctioned off to be given to the charity, Give Kids the World Village.
So, what favorite toy from your childhood do you wish they'd bring back?

I was just telling Brian the other day that I look forward to sharing my favorite toys with Corinne, like he has with Ethan. But let's face it, it's less about sharing then it is living vicariously through our children. I can't wait to braid pony tales again!
I always wish I could find those mermaid dolls we use to get at Kings. It had a mermaid with long hair Barbie type hair and a sponge that the mermaid could float on in the bathtub. And it came with a little mer-pet or mer-baby. I would pay more money than I probably should if I saw one of those again.
How funny!!! I was totally gonna send you the link to this to put on your blog!!! Love these:) I want them!
i totally remember those mermaids, sister...we should probably check out Kings the next time we're in Buhl:)
Boy is this ever going to show my age, but the only thing I can think of is the paper dolls where you punched out there clothes and could change them. I used to design my own clothes for them. I haven't been able to find anything like it any more. Other than those, I can't think of what I used to play with. Pretty sad. ;)
But I do remember my daughter loving the ponies and now Ashley does as well. Can't wait to see what they come up with. I too remember the mermaids. Hmmm, I'm sure they'll be back; and oh yeah, the troll dolls. Hee hee
